Hex is to a very large extent modeled after Magic the Gathering. What attracts me in Hex is the classic Limited formats (booster draft and sealed deck), which are sadly missing from Spellweaver, and the PvE part.
#HEX SHARDS OF FATE CAMPAIGN FREE#
I prefer Spellweaver mainly because of the resource system and combat mechanics (being able to attack and protect creatures with other creatures, and creature speed), and because it's free to play. I just don't spend as much since I don't feel i have value for my investment Its level of complexity with its better ressources system makes it a better card game then Hex. I can draft the packs and grow my collection (not in CCG) I can sell the packs (not in CCG) i can trade cards and buy the deck i want (not in CCG) I can sell all my stuff to get cash back (not in CCG)īUT I can say that spellweaver is just a wonderful CCG. In short: HEX is good if you want to be competitive and don't mind spending some (serious) cash.įor me, TCG attract me more. (But I don't think it would be enough to make me play HEX again) Some new features and ideas, specially considering it's a card game. Now they'll release the first Single Player Campaign (or they already relased, IDK) which seems promising and interesting. Which leads to me having nothing to do but play AI because I didn't feel interested enough to waste money on it. (Ok, I tried to play when it had just launched here, but still.) Which leads to the Auction house being like a Haunted house instead.

I'm forced to play in the South America server, which by the time, there were very few people. Free to play players are limited to Single Player Campaign (which was only the Frost Arena by the time) or Draft to the bold ones, because in PVP constructed is basically playing your Starter Deck forever. Like doing 3 Frost Arena runs to buy a single Uncommon. Without some greenies you must grind your ass out to get some gold, so you can buy a single card. So you' have to keep hunting card by card you need/want to build a deck. In-game money just buy you single cards or packs if someone is selling it.

Auction system (aka Stock Market Simulator). Still suffers from mana screw/flood pretty frequently (which is frustrating) and the slow paced gameplay. Only differences are some funky mechanics only possible in digital media and the color threshold, which kinda increases your options. It's been a while since I played HEX, but these are some things I remember:
